Online shopping of technical products is common among Slovene web users

iPROM and Valicon carried out a survey on how common is buying technical products over the Internet among Slovene web users. The survey revealed that buying over the Internet is widely spread; namely almost two thirds of web users have already used it for buying technical products.

The poll results revealed that in January almost a quarter (23 %) of web users bought technical products over the Internet, and monthly almost one tenth (8%) of web users that participated in a survey buy technical products over the Internet.

The most frequently bought technical products regardless the way of buying are the ones in the category of computer accessories. Those were also the most frequently bought products over the Internet last year. In the last year the survey participants used the Internet frequently to buy also accessories for cameras, personal computers or laptops and cameras. Survey participants estimate that in the future they will use the Internet mostly for buying computer accessories. According to the survey results three main factors that influence online shopping are: price (79%), handiness (58%) and access to information (52%).

Users of web technical stores mainly use Internet as a mode for searching information about products/services and also as a channel for buying that product/service.


The survey was carried out in the beginning of this year as a poll, which included 731 of web users.
